Sex.
It’s a funny word.
The one that makes young children giggle and then as they grow older blush in the presence of adults.
It is the type of word to split the world in two.
The people who are comfortable.
And the people who aren’t.

My mother was always in the comfortable side.
Being able to talk about her sexual habits at the age or 9 showed that.
My sister was just the same.
My daily quiz on what a lesbian was and how to get an orgasm was always passed with flying colours by the age of 6.
Maybe that’s why I became a nymphomaniac bi sexual!

The way others converse in a conversation about sex has always intrigued me.
I think the hardest thing for a parent is to explain the ‘birds and the bees’ to their little darling.
The second is probably the ‘do you have sex and how not to get pregnant talk.’

School has become a great helping hand – to my dismay – in helping parents… talk… with their children.
I miss the days where every child got to see their parents in a quivering wreck as the child giggled at every word that came from their mouth.
Or in the latter talk, coughing uncomfortably and the parent showed them how to put a condom on using a banana.

Ahh the good days.

I believe that if a child is old/curious enough to ask, the n the child is old enough to know.
Technically.
This how e very does not mean that if you child asks what you mean when you say ‘maybe’ or ‘one day’ you are not to reveal the trade secrets of parent hood.

Being a mere child myself I shouldn’t know the answer.
But I still use it with the children I look after.

Its funny how children will look up to you even though you are a mere 5 or 7 years older.
How they will ask you about sex.
How the woman in Buffy is gay.
And can they have a glass of water.

My answers consist of honest detailed answers with a bit of knowledge about myself.

Yes I have had sex.
Yes I am gay.
Yes I love water.

It fun to see their little face light up or squirm to the honest truth they would never recieve from adults.
It is also amazing to teach them that these things are okay and watch them mature in front of your eyes.
Sometimes though... its so much more rewarding the freak them out and tickle them to death!

Either way.
The conversation revolving sex.
Is ALWAYS fun.
